    DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Monday, August 15, 2022) – Southern States Management Group (SSMG) recently welcomed two new additions to their ever-growing staff. On Monday, July 11, 2022, SSMG welcomed John Acosta, a Licensed Community Association Manager with considerable experience managing condominium buildings and community associations. John is also a Licensed Realtor in the State of Florida. Located at our Pelican Bay Office, he has been assigned a portfolio of condominium clients in the greater Daytona Beach area. On Monday, August 8, 2022, SSMG welcomed Suzana Balula, a Licensed Community Association Manager with experience managing a portfolio of community association clients. Located at the Palm Coast Office, Suzana will serve a portfolio of condominium and homeowners association clients in Flagler and Volusia Counties. SSMG welcomes these two wonderful hires to the team and looks forward to a successful future.

    BOARD EDUCATION Vendors Board Members Employees Owners/ Residents SAVE THE DATE Back by popular demand, our Annual HOA/COA Certification & Conference is happening on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, from 8am-5pm at the Cici & Hyatt Brown Museum of Art located at 352 South Nova Road in Daytona Beach. This educational event is geared towards Board Members and Community Leaders. A Homeowner and Condominium Association Certification will be hosted in the morning session with the afternoon providing multiple presentations covering legislative changes, strategic planning, accounting practices and more industry related hot topics. More details on presenters and topics will role out shortly. In the meantime, please save the date and register! BOARD MEMBER SIGN UP FORM VENDOR SIGN UP FORM Being a HOA board member can be a rewarding and fulfilling experience, but it is not without its challenges. Often many board members don’t realize exactly what they have volunteered for. It’s often said that being an association board member is the only job that you’ll ever have that has no formal education requirements for obtaining a position and has no built-in training program to help you learn as you go! Southern States offers quarterly training sessions for HOA board education. Our training sessions will increase board members’ knowledge base so that they can make vital, informed decisions for the betterment of the community. A senior property manager will be assigned to your community to conduct HOA property management education. We also invite professionals from other fields, including attorneys and CPAs, to help lead the training sessions. To be an effective board member, it's crucial to understand the concept and structure of a homeowners' association (HOA). In general, an HOA is a nonprofit organization set up to help run, manage, and maintain a neighborhood, building, or another collective of homes. People who belong to an HOA pay annual or monthly dues, which the HOA uses to maintain shared spaces and carry out other association duties, like rules enforcement, meeting management, and financial planning.
