The Southern States Foundation
On our 30th anniversary we created a private foundation focused on housing, wellness, social stability, and educational opportunity in Volusia and Flagler counties.
The inaugural gift
Our first event – a team scramble at the Conservatory at Hammock Beach – brought together 144 golfers and nearly 50 sponsors, and funded a $30,000 gift to Family Renew Community.
Family Renew provides transitional housing for families with children across 32 apartments in Holly Hill, DeLand, and elsewhere in coastal Florida – about 60 families a year, with a 95% chance of maintaining stable housing afterward. Our gift was their largest of the year, covering more than 3% of annual operating expenses.
